PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT: Conferences and workshops (often with teachers from regions in conflict) on pedagogy, curriculum development, conflict mediation, inquiry science and mathematics training, health and HIV-AIDS education; publications. Our Conferences of Teachers from Regions in Conflict provide opportunities to learn across borders within countries. Our Certificate of Teaching Mastery includes five courses (issues, pedagogy, curriculum, assessment, multiculturalism) and culminates with the production of a Portfolio customized for each teacher.
COMMUNITY EDUCATION PROGRAMS: Our Community Teaching & Learning Centers provide online and onsite opportunities for teachers (and communities) to participate in/offer courses, youth programs ,and outreach to underserved populations; schools in displaced persons’ camps; school supplies for schools (including textbooks, computers, and uniforms). We offer our own courses in Health Education for Teachers and HIV-AIDS Education for Teachers as well as opportunities for communities to create their own course materials and books
ONLINE LEARNING & COLLABORATION TOOLS: Available for free to all TWB teachers, this open-source, cross-platform toolset enables educators around the world to connect, create content, and collaborate worldwide. The software program easily helps teachers to connect globally, create content (courses, books, picture galleries, articles) share ideas (write together, lead forums, research topics) and organize activities at the local level. Click here to learn more and Teach and Learn (the orange block to your right) to participate. We also offer Directions -TWB's own globally peer-reviewed journal connecting education and international development.
